Leafkit who had kept sient with this whole affair investigating under an oak tree suddenly cried out, "Auntie Light Auntie Light! I found some redroot!!"

Sunkit rolled her eyes. "Freshkill-crowfood," she muttered under her breath.

Juniperheart raised nonexistent eyebrows, wondering what the leader's opinion in all this would be. He, after all, would be the one who decided the fate of the little mouse. "We should take him to Stormingstar," she mewed, just a bit timidly.

"Fine June." LightWing mewed sighing, Piper was cute as in adorable after all.

[Ren]

"Juniperheart," the she-cat replied stiffly. "Not June." How could a medicine cat be so...indignified? the queen wondered. Sunkit was almost wailing now, so Juniperheart quickly stifled the noise with a paw.

"Thank you Pygmy." Piper glared at Sunkit. "You're a Good bundle of cheese to." He said sarcastically.
"Oh stop it you guys both of you."LightWing replied.
"Auntie! I found RedRoot!" Leafkit chorused.

"Fine Juniperheart." LightWing sighed, "Why d'you have to be so...so...so serious dearie?"

[Ren]

Sunkit snarled, and could contain herself no longer. Struggling free of her mother's grip, she lashed out at the irritating creature, and then blood was on her claws--was it the mouse's? Lightwing's? Her own? It was impossible to tell as fur went flying--the kit was fighting to wrest Piper free of her medicine cat's grip.

Juniperheart just gasped in horror, once again lost as to what to do now.

"AAAAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!" It was leafKit, Sunkit had attacked, as Leafy had crpt up to her aunt trying to grab her attention and tell her about the RedRoot.
"Oh Now look what you've done Sunkit!" LightWing snapped then turned to JuniperHeart, "Kepp better control of your kits JuniperHeart." LightWing tried to comfort adn soothe her niece whiile Piper went to find some herbs. He hurried back with cobwebs. LightWing bound Leafkit's front paw heavily with them almost forgetting to put yarrow on it.

Sunkit began wailing. "Called me Pygmy, Mam!" she yowled, beating her paws against the ground in time to the heavily falling rain.

Amd Juniperheart, too, had had enough. "It's only natural for her to want to hunt him," she snapped defensively. "She couldn't have seen Leafkit, and in any case I say we eat the vermin. There's little enough food as it is."

"Why, Why. It's not dignified!" Piper gasped, "How could you! I wish you guys could go to DevilMouse! CheeseBrains!" He cursed.

"JuniperHeart." LightWing hissed her voice turning dark and a bit cold, "That is the most pittiable excuse I've heard today. -Dearie-" She said Dearie sarcastically.

[Ren]

But now that Juniperheart had begun to let her temper steam, she couldn't stop. "We haven't had enough to eat in two moons, you mousebrain!" she snarled. "Not since we came into this accursed place! Look at my kits!" Indeed, the the ribs of pair--now backing away from the heat in their mother's voice--could easily be seen by anycat now blind. "And we've had less than any other, because Sunkit's 'not natural'!" Her voice was rising. "They respect her, oh, sure! They fear her, and they hate me for who their father was! We NEED food, even if you don't, you spoiled--medicine cat!" The name was spat like a curse.

LightWing just glared then keeping her voice amazingly steady mewed, "If you had gotten to know and notice me over the last few moons you would have seen that I joined when you moved as you say it 'To this accursed place.' You would have noticed that I have my own troubles what with my sister your ex-med cat StarRose disappeared. You would have noticed that.." LightWing had started yelling now, which caused Piper to shrink into the backgroud with Leafkit, "YOU MY SCAREDY CAT WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE FRIENDS WITH YOUR STUPID KIT I KNOW NOTHING OF HER BACKGROUND. YOU FOOL! I ONLY ADJUSTED SOOOO WELL INTO YOUR CLAN BECAUSE I WAS ONCE IN ONE. THE NOW RUINED OAKCLAN. I LOST EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING I HAD. EVEN MY OWN KIT. I WAS THE DEPUTY YOU KNOW. AND YOU CALL ME SPOILED? SPOILED! YOU MY DEAR ARE SPOILED. YOU MY LOLLIPOP ARE MEEK. TO SCARED OF EVEN A MOUSE! IT'S A MOUSE FOR STACLAN'S SAKE. IT WON'T HURT US. WE EAT THEM FOR PREY SOMETIMES. No offense to you Piper muffin."
"No-none taken miss." Piper stammered.
"Good." LightWing's attntion turned back to JuniperHeart, "YOU WOULD HAVE NOTICED THAT MY NEICE LEAFKIT HAS HAD LESS TO. ALL BECAUSE SHE IS BULLIED BY EVERY OTHER CAT IN THE CLAN. SO STOP YOUR PETTY WHINING, YOU CAVILING KIT!" She huffed.

[Ren]

Sunkit stepped up now, eyes hard. "Leafkit glow?" she asked coldly. "Leafkit have no da?"

Juniperheart shook her head, drawing her kit back. "I've heard enough of this folly," she said softly. "Just because a mouse--because FOOD!--can speak, it means nothing. I will have nothing to do with a medicine cat that puts a--a toy, something she can fool with for pleasure and herbs, before her Clan. We are starving, Lightwing, not wounded. We need this mouse for our kits to eat--not as a second apprentice." Calm now, she picked up Goldenkit by the scruff of her neck, drawing Sunkit closer to her. "Come, kits. Let's find Stormingstar and inform him of this--turn of events." Turning away, she added, "Neither of you are to play with Leafkit any longer. I'll not have you, too, drawn into such foolishness."

((...now would be a good time for Stormingstar to come in.))

Jelk and Pudge were setting in a tree, watching the scene. Jelk giggled. "Fluffy get mad! Get 'em ki--oomph!" Pudge had laid her tail over his mouth. "Shush! 'Tis death for us if you don' shur up!" She removed her tail, Jelk glaring at her. "I cood fight da big bad kikky!" Pudge cuffed his ear soundly. "No you couldn't!" Jelk flicked his tail in annoyance, muttering darkly to himself. "I beat dup kikkies, mummy wong!" When his mom wasn't looking, he leapt from the tree and and behind the kit called Sunkit. He bit her tail, then scampered up a tall oak, giggling.
